For Monday, met up with manoj, then shiqi. We walked to neva-neva land and still couldn’t find XingWang Cafe at Marina Square. If I, the one with unmatched directional sense, cannot find the elusive cafe, it will soon close down!
So shiqi finally settled for Sakae Sushi. As you can see from the photo, fom left to right, that’s me on the left, shiqi in the monitor screen (don’t ask me how she did that!), and our not-so-friendly waitress on the right.
Accompanied shiqi to NUS Library since she needed to photocopy a book. Fast thinking from the both of us helped us to enter the library without library cards! At first, Shiqi wrote down her name and matric number duly for the libarian. The plan was for Shiqi to help me write down ‘my’ name and matric number using her boyfriend’s for the librarian to key in.
But the libarian turned to me instead and said “Why don’t you just tell me your name and matric number (verbally)”. I was like.. “uhh.. okay I need to check my number.. [started feeling around] now where is my card.. [turns to shiqi] can you help me tell him first.. (as ridiculous as that may sound to the libarian)”
I swiftly whipped out my iphone and excused myself for a ‘call’ so shiqi could help verbalize my matric number to the libarian. Good thinking, Brendan.
